Né en 1954 à Limoges, Michel BECQUET a pratiqué le piano et le cor dès son plus jeune âge en suivant les conseils de son père. Après quelques années d’études au conservatoire de Limoges, il entre à 15 ans au CNSM de Paris où il obtient rapidement tous ses diplômes.
Dès lors, il va remporter tous les concours internationaux ouverts au trombone : Genève, Munich, Prague et Toulon.
Il est engagé à 18 ans premier trombone solo dans l’Orchestre de la Suisse romande, avant de rejoindre quelques années plus tard l’Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris qu’il quittera en 1989 pour la « Hochschule für Musik » à Cologne, où il enseigne aux côtés de chefs internationaux.
Il dirige les pupitres de cuivres des plus grandes phalanges (Luxembourg, Ile de France, Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre national de Lyon, Rotterdam…).
En 1986, il est nommé professeur de trombone au CNSM de Lyon et il devient chef du département des cuivres du CNSM de Lyon en 1990. Il poursuit une carrière internationale de soliste et, en tant que professeur, il est invité par les plus grandes institutions pédagogiques.
Il a conçu le trombone Courtois Modèle AC420BH pour le groupe Buffet Crampon.

Michel BECQUET was born in 1954, in Limoges. He learned piano and horn very early with his father, then in the academy of Limoges and, after, in the national music academy of Paris.
Then he won every international prices of trombone: Geneva, Munich, Prague and Toulon.
Aged 18, he became first solo trombone in the Orchestra of the french-speaking Swiss, then he continued in the Orchestra of the Paris Opera. In 1989, he joined the “Hochschule für Musik”, in
Cologne, where he teaches with international conductors.
Michel Becquet conducts the brass stands in main places (Luxemburg, Ile de France, Toulouse, Lyon, Rotterdam...).
He began teaching trombone at the national music academy of Lyon in 1986 and he has managed the brass academy since 1990. He has a great international career and teaches all over the world.
He designed the Courtois’ trombone AC420BH for Buffet Crampon.
